In 2000, ACRC has developed the first transitional shelter in Los Angeles that takes into consideration the different needs
of the African refugees and immigrant population it serves.
RSH is a transitional shelter for African women and their children who are victims of domestic violence. It has served women
and their children from 37 different countries in the last six years.
The residents receives counseling and full case management - legal/immigration assistance, employment training services,
ESL, translation services, independent living skills, household establishment services and transition to permanent housing.
Now, RSH is also a safe haven to African women who are victims of human trafficking.
